If you’re going with the handcrafted, personalized Christmas gifts that will inspire the ‘Wow! Where did you find that?!’ response, one of your first stops may have been to  the Santa’s Market Crafts and Gifts Festival at Fort Loramie High School this past Sunday.

Just like all those Whovillians scurrying hither and yon for their Christmas decorations, presents and celebration foods and supplies, Christmas will be here before we know it, and if you have people on your shopping list that cherish hand-crafted gifts, decorations, etc., Santa’s Market Crafts and Gifts Festival was one for you.

Now spread out through the two gymnasiums, shoppers found over 100 booths offering unique handmade items.

There were also booths manned by local student and community organizations. At Santa’s Workshop, there were “make and take” crafts for all ages, as well as Letters to Santa to be composed by young aspirants. Indeed, Santa was on hand to put his personal stamp of approval over all the proceedings from noon ‘til 2 p.m., ready for his next photo opp provided by photographer Bobbie Debrito.

This event also offered a local Student Art Show. Food and drinks were provided by the Fort Loramie FCCLA, providing delivery to many of the vendors in their booths.

Admission was either $2 or a donation of two canned food items for donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank.
