Whether it was helping a fellow Minster man get to rehab every Monday for nearly a decade,  being a driving force behind the founding of the F.J. Stallo Memorial Library or serving on a local board or leadership position, Marv Huber’s service made him a perfect choice for the title of 2017 Minster Oktoberfest Parade grand marshal.

Huber was announced at a dinner at the Wooden Shoe Inn on Saturday afternoon.

“It’s gratifying,” Marv said afterwards. “It was a big surprise. A shock.”

“It’s exciting,” Flo, his wife since 1949, said. “I know that he deserves it because he put of time in different things. Not just the library. He took Bob Heckman to rehab for nine years.”
