NEW BREMEN — The investigation continues into a high speed pursuit that started in New Bremen early Thursday morning.

At approximately 1 a.m. Thursday, a member of the New Bremen Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a red 2003 Ford F-350 that was traveling at a high-rate of speed on Ohio 274. New Bremen Police Chief Mike Skinner said the driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.

"The truck was pursued into Mercer County and it was terminated at the state line," Skinner told The Evening Leader. "It is still under investigation. We are not sure at this time who was driving but we did get a plate off the vehicle."

Skinner said the plate was "local." As of now, the vehicle has not been reported stolen.

"We still have a be on the lookout on the vehicle," Skinner said. "We are trying to figure out who the driver was at this time. That will be the difficult part of the problem."

Anyone with information should contact the New Bremen Police Department at 419-629-3371.
