Jared Hoying will be up at the major league level for a playoff chase.

The Fort Loramie grad and Texas Ranger outfielder has been called back up to the big leagues. After a stint in the major leagues earlier this year, where he hit .210 in 62 at-bats, he returned to Triple-A Round Rock.

On Monday, Hoying got the call back up to the Rangers to give Texas outfield depth for the stretch run of the season.

At Round Rock, the 28-year-old Hoying has hit .262 with 10 home runs and 44 runs batted in.

Entering Tuesday, the Rangers were just two games out of the American League Wildcard in a crowded race.
