The 2017 Minster Citizen of Year is Linda Kitzmiller. The Minster Civic Association has again selected a community member deserving of the honor. Kitzmiller now joins the evergrowing ranks of 48 previous recipients of the prestigious local award as someone who has made a difference in Minster lives.

Kitzmiler was presented the award for her selfless dedication to Minster’s benefit. The announcement was made before dinner at the 51st annual Minster Civic Association Dinner and Dance, held at the K. of C. Hall, Saturday, Jan. 27.

All in attendance applauded her selection, announced by Civic Association President Kurt Baumer. Following the award presentation and many photos to record the event, wellwishers formed the greeting line offering their congratulations to the woman tabbed as the 48th recipient of the award.

She responded, “Thank you Minster Civic Association for honoring me with this prestigious award. Being the 2017 recipient of Minster’s Citizen of the Year is both humbling and a delightful surprise. I am blessed to have been embraced by this community when I married my husband Don, a Minster native, over 40 years ago and moved here. Minster truly is a great place to live and to raise a family.”
