Prenger Reaches 1,000 Points, Minster Rolls On

Staff Writer

Courtney Prenger became the third Minster girls basketball player in program history to reach 1,000 points for a career and just the second Wildcat to score 1,000 points for Minster on Thursday, Dec. 3 against Fort Recovery.

The Xavier University signee drained a jumper left of the key to eclipse the 1,000-point mark. She needed five points to reach the milestone heading into Minster’s Midwest Athletic Conference game against the  Indians.

Minster didn’t let the chase for 1,000 distract them, either. The Wildcats cruised to a 54-24 win and improved to 11-0 on the season and 3-0 in the MAC.

Prenger joins Lauren Shenk, a 1998 graduate who scored 1,617 points, and Rosie Westerbeck, a 2017 grad who scored 1,141 points over her four years at both New Bremen and Minster.

Ivy Wolf Led Minster with 21 points in the Midwest Athletic Conference victory. Minster is atop the MAC standings along with Versailles, which is also unbeaten in conference play.

A night later Minster went on the road and pummeled Lincolnview 55-25 to move to make it a dozen straight wins to start the season.
