Rehab director tells seniors to stay in motion

Staff Writer

Speaking to the Active Older Adults at their luncheon Thursday, March 5, Physical
Therapist Assistant Angie Weaver, Rehab Director at Heritage Center, defined her topic,
“What I mainly want to hone in on is preventing falls, maintaining your balance, maintaining
your strength.” Offering ideas to accomplish that, she cited Newton’s first law of physics:
An object at rest is going to stay at rest, a object in motion is going to remain in motion.
That’s the most important thing. When you’re feeling unsteady, it can be scary.
It’s good to keep on moving. You keep your strength and you keep your balance.”
